Our goal is clarity

Cannabis Landraces was created with a clear purpose, to document and share accurate information about the landrace cannabis strains of Central and South Asia.

These regional landraces are not side notes in cannabis history. They are foundational. The genetic building blocks of much of the modern cannabis industry which trace back to Pakistan, Afghanistan, and surrounding regions.

Yet mainstream content rarely represents these landraces as they truly exist. The plants are often oversimplified, or mislabeled. Cultural context is stripped away. Historical depth is reduced to marketing language.

The initiative focuses on decoding myths, revisiting historical records, and examining on-ground realities. It brings together botany, cultivation history, regional practices, and lived agricultural knowledge, without leaving gaps filled by speculation.

The Cannabis Landraces website is designed to serve as a reliable reference point particularly for understanding the cannabis culture of Pakistan and Afghanistan, and the plants that evolved there.

In a field crowded with assumptions, it aims to function as a beacon of documented, contextualized, and regionally grounded information.
